Redditch Local History Society

We have monthly meetings throughout the year.  At the meetings we follow our activities and allow members to present their own local history activities.  We also aim at every meeting to have an activity such as a presentation or film related to the history of Redditch, the local region and other subjects of interest to members. From the Activities page you can download our leaflet with details of our meetings.

Welcome to the RLHS Website

The Redditch Local History Society was established by Derek Coombes and Anthony Green in late 2009 with the objective of promoting, preserving and protecting the heritage of the unique history of Redditch, a small town in the West Midlands.

Since that time, the Society has expanded and outgrown our locations at Forge Mill Needle Museum (website) and, later, Redditch Library, and our meetings since February 2017 are now held at the Oasis Christian Centre (location) which is an excellent centrally located venue.

As well as our monthly meetings, we also document and communicate the history of Redditch by means of our newsletter, exhibitions, talks, social media,  archives and audio/visual records.

Our next meeting can be found at our Meetings page. Our events can be found at the Events page.
